What is a Christian? |

A Christian is someone who believes that Jesus Christ is the only answer for this life and the next. No one becomes a Christian because he / she goes to church or because his / her parents are believers. A conscious personal decision to turn to and believe in Jesus Christ is needed.
Six steps to salvation
Men still cry "What must I do to be saved?"
The Bible provides a clear answer:
- Acknowledge
"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3.23)
"God have mercy on me, a sinner" (Luke 18.13)
- Repent
"But unless you repent, you too will all perish" (Luke 13.3)
"Repent then, and turn to God, that your sins may be wiped out" (Acts 3.19)
- Confess
"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1.9)
"If you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus Christ is Lord', and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved" (Romans 10.9)
- Forsake
"Let the wicked man forsake his way and the evil man his thoughts. Let him turn to the Lord....for he will freely pardon" (Isaiah 55.7)
- Believe
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life" (John 3.16)
"Whoever believes and and is baptised will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned" (Mark 16.16)
- Receive
"To all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God" (John 1.12)
